How economically competitive is domestically produced cotton compared to its imported counterpart? Have government policies encouraged it domestic production? These are questions that this research study attempts to answer. Analysis indicates that while there is a comparative advantage in producing cotton, efficiency is not the only consideration in implementing a policy that will promote or penalize an agricultural activity.
