This article reports on the construction method of the MSAFs and its relation to existing data sources. The remainder of this article is organized as follows. Section 2 gives the basic accounting concepts and describes the design of the MSAFs. Section 3 describes the main data sources used in the compilation of the matrices. Section 4 gives a brief discussion of the construction methodology by main blocks and section 5 gives some general conclusions about data reliability, consistency checks and further applications of the MSAFs
